The Lebanese Union for Child Welfare held a celebration in honor of the President of the Federation, Mrs. Fadia Al-Othman Al-Assad, attended by a large crowd of representatives of events and human rights and women’s and social societies, such as the President of the Lebanese Women Council, lawyer Iqbal Dogan, Mrs. Claudine Aoun Roukouz represented by Mrs. Ghada Hamdan, Mrs. May Makhzoumi, President of Makhzoumi Social Institutions, Mrs. Amina Berry, Minister Violet Safadi, represented by Mrs. Maya Khoury, President of the Lebanese Red Cross, Professor Antoine Al-Zoghbi, represented by Mrs. Amina Berri and the lawyer, Professor Maan Al-Asad, along with the Al-Mukarramah family and the Al Union.
The honoring ceremony in which his program, Professor Lina Farah Tamer, started with the Lebanese national anthem, after which the gentlemen: Azzam Houry, Iqbal Dogan, Elie Mikhael, presented words in which they praised the campaigner’s struggle, Fadia Al-Othman Al-Asaad, and praised her manipulation, sincerity and human and social achievements at the level of children, women, education and the environment.
The celebrated Mrs. Fadia Al-Othman Al-Assaad delivered a speech in which she thanked all the attendees, and the national women’s struggle march, which after long decades of perseverance, achieved achievements in bringing women and men closer and equal, eliminating discrimination and adopting laws related to child protection, juvenile compulsory education, free education, and environmental protection … and other fields that The footprints of many of the late female activists witnessed the likes of Mother Olga Sara, Emily Fares Ibrahim, Souad Salloum, Anisa Al-Najjar, Azza Marwa and Lore Moghaizel. And the march continues with the rest of them, who are still working and living, as a way to build a healthy homeland, just like the one we all aspired to in our dreams.
In conclusion, Mrs. Fadia Al-Othman Al-Asaad was awarded a shield of honor in fulfillment of her tender and blessed efforts in the service of man and the public good.
